Perhaps a better title would be "It came from outer space!"

A painting for Holland SF magazine. Oddly enough, this is my first "full fledged" snow painting. I had great fun with the mountains. The top has been left a bit empty (and cropped a bit here) for the logo.

The way you painted the snow is great - hard and soft at the same time.

Beautiful image indeed! The composition is wonderful and the colors are absolutely fantastic. It seems as though the subjects just appeared out of nowhere though, maybe the slightest trace of footsteps in the snow would add more of a getting there feeling. Top marks!

@Joe-Ayotte: yes, I've thought of some footsteps too, but I felt they would perhaps be too distracting.
But just to scratch that itch, I added them now

I had to look twice at the smaller version, and then look at it large, Very nice though, The snow does lok amazing, any special techniuques used on it? THe sky is greart the way it is, the moon captivating. Very nice work.

Jaw-droppin' good! I have to echo everyone else and say that the snow is incredible. The lighting and atmosphere are spot-on, too; I can feel the cool, brisk air (which is a miracle on such a hot day). Some of the snow about 1/3 up from the bottom looks a tiny bit too uniform for me, but the rest is sinfully good so I'll let it slide.

reminds me of those viral videos of giantism exploration that went around the web last year before it became apparent it was a playstation media blitz....very cool work and the snow is handled well, plenty of skill here, easily recognizable too. you nailed the mountains look very picturesque
